Polis Villages
At about 600 metres above sea level, Lasa climate is a few degrees cooler than the low-lying inland villages, but this altitude has the added advantage of stunning views right down to Chrysochous Bay. The closest villages to Lasa are Fyti, about two kilometres east, and Milia, about four kilometres in a southerly direction.
Lasa’s narrow, winding roads are lined with traditional stone houses, some in major disrepair and many being renovated. Quite a few of these stone houses are for sale as the number of elderly residents has slowly dwindled and the younger residents have moved on to larger towns to find employment.
 
 
Lasa has a snack bar/coffee shop at its centre where the locals can meet and watch the world go by.
There is a brilliant little tavern in the village, which is run by an old Cypriot couple. Ask them for the dish of the day and they will give you the meal that they have cooked for themselves! The couple can prepare all basic meals for you and your family. A small traditional village shop is just a walk away; there you can order your daily fresh bread and basic necessities, and it also doubles as the village post office. More taverns and coffee shops can be found in neighbouring Fyti village which is just a short distance away.
However, in this peaceful village not much of the world does go by. The village church is a minute’s walk up the road but walk down the hill and you might discover the ruins of a very old church, which is home to pigeons and other wildlife now.
The extremely friendly local residents total about 120 and that includes a handful of ex-patriates. However, with new villas being built on the outskirts of the village and many of the old stone houses being renovated, these numbers are slowly increasing.

Lasa itself is the area's main village together with Fyti, concentrating the produce of the farming activities of smaller villages and hamlets around it.
 
This vine clad sloping village offers truly magnificent views of valleys, mountains and uninterrupted sea views to Polis & Latchi in the distance.
These are well-located villages-central for their area, occupying advantageous locations (the radio masts on both these villages attest to this).
Lasa is well connected with various tarmac roads leading to either Paphos or Polis in approximately 25 to 30 minutes, being about half way from both of them. Simple life and elegance go hand in hand in this village.
